KODIAK, Alaska – A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew, forward-deployed to Cold Bay, performs the medevac of a mariner from the fishing vessel Golden Alaska, on Tuesday, near Cold Bay.
The Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter aircrew deployed the rescue swimmer, safely hoisted the mariner and once onboard the MH-60T crew headed to land to transport the 57-year-old male to Anchorage to transfer him Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel, who then transported him to medical center to receive a higher level of care.
At approximately 3 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard 17th District Command Center watchstanders received the request for assistance from the fishing vessel’s crew, reporting that a crewmember had previously lost consciousness and was in an altered mental state.
The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak aircrew launched a MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter (MRR) from Cold Bay, arrived on scene and conduct safely the medevac (medical evacuation).

Watchstanders in the 17th Coast Guard District Command Center received the request for assistance reporting the individual had lost consciousness and was experiencing an altered mental state.
