SAN FRANCISCO — A Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco MH-65E Dolphin helicopter aircrew and partner agencies conducted the rescue of an injured hiker inland of Devil’s Slide Trail in Pacifica, California. Sunday afternoon, April 19, 2026.

At approximately 1 p.m., Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders received a request for assistance from San Mateo County Dispatch for a 26-year-old hiker who had dislocated his ankle on Devil’s Slide Trail.

Watchstanders deployed a Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco MH-65E Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the rescue mission.

Once on the scene, the MH-65E Dolphin SRR Helicopter aircrew deployed the rescue swimmer to hoist the victim into the aircraft. The injured hiker was transferred to awaiting San Mateo County emergency medical services (EMS) at the Devil’s Slide Trail parking lot.

The helicopter aircrew deployed a rescue swimmer to hoist the victim into the, where he was transferred to awaiting San Mateo County EMS at the Devil’s Slide Trail parking lot.
