SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard Air Station San Diego MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew medevac a 39-year-old mariner (male) from the oil tanker Polaris Voyager 28 nautical miles west of Oceanside. Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego Joint Harbor Operations Center watchstanders received notification from the Polaris Voyager, reporting that a 39-year-old male crew member onboard was experiencing symptoms of a stroke and needed to be medevaced at approximately 12:10 p.m.
Coast Guard watchstanders then diverted an Air Station San Diego MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac around 12:30 p.m.
The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR Helicopter aircrew arrived on-scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the patient into the aircraft and transferred him to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla in San Diego around 2:30 p.m.
The patient is reported to be in a stable condition.
