NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew rescue (medevac) an oil platform worker Wednesday morning approximately 20 nautical miles southeast of Southwest Pass, Louisiana.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received notification at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday from the oil platform West Delta Block 73 AD of a 49-year-old male experiencing severe abdominal pain.
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to assist.
The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR helicopter aircrew arrived on the scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the patient and headed to land to transfer the man to emergency medical services personnel (EMS) awaiting University Medical Center in New Orleans.
The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew successfully transported the man in stable condition to the University Medical Center New Orleans.
