SAVANNAH, Georgia. — The Coast Guard crews rescue four adults, Tuesday, from a capsized 50-foot catamaran near the entrance of Ossabaw Sound.
An Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter (SRR) launched and a rescue swimmer, with a dewatering pump, was lowered the catamaran, which was flooding at the time. The catamaran then capsized due to hull damage from running aground.
The MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter aircrew hoisted the four people to the aircraft safely, and a Coast Guard Station Tybee 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew arrived on scene and pulled the rescue swimmer from the water.
