NORTH BEND, Ore. —​ A Coast Guard aircrew hoisted an injured man Saturday afternoon off Bone Mountain.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Sector North Bend hoisted the man to safety and transported him to awaiting emergency medical services at Roseburg Regional Airport in neighboring Douglas County.

At 4:18 p.m., watchstanders at the​ Sector North Bend​ Command Center received a request for assistance from the​ Coos County Sheriff’s Office​ dispatch reporting an injured hiker in distress.

Ground personnel had been unable to reach the man’s location by foot. The Dolphin aircrew launched at 4:56 p.m. and arrived on scene at 5:11 p.m. to conduct the hoist.

The man was treated for exposure and minor injuries.​
