NEW ORLEANS – A Coast Guard Air Station NOLA MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew medevac a 48-year-old fisherman (male) from a charter fishing vessel approximately 75 nautical miles offshore from Destin, Florida. Saturday, October 26, 2024.
At approximately 7 p.m. Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders received a report from the charter fishing vessel Kraken Reels requesting a medevac for a 48-year-old man reportedly experiencing a medical emergency.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medical evacuation.
The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR Helicopter aircrew arrived on-scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the man aboard the aircraft and transported him to awaiting emergency medical services (EMS) personnel at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
