SANTA RITA, Guam — The Coast Guard, Navy and partners are searching for a missing 34-year-old fisherman in Pago Bay after authorities received a report from his family on Monday.

The missing man, K. Nauta, reportedly was last seen wearing black shorts and a blue shirt.

Guam Fire Department units launched the operation along the coastline and surrounding waters after the E911 Center got the call at 4:29 a.m. They notified watchstanders at the U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia / Sector Guam Joint Rescue Sub-Center seeking additional support.

The U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, and Guam Police Department are assisting in the effort. Guam Fire deployed waterborne assets and personnel to search from Nauta’s last known location on shore, including an aerial drone, and continue to search from the channel mouth toward shore. A Station Apra Harbor 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RB-M) crew is searching the deeper offshore waters, while a U.S. Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 (HSC-25 «Island Knights») MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter aircrew provides additional aerial support.

Responders are asking that anyone with details that could help the search contact Joint Rescue Sub-Center watchstanders at 671-355-4826.

The on-scene weather is reportedly east winds of 10 to 15 mph, partly sunny with waves around 5 feet.
