HOUSTON — A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65E Dolphin helicopter aircrew medevac a 15-year-old boy who lost consciousness approximately 51 nautical miles south of Freeport, Texas. Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a Mayday call at 9:55 a.m., from the master aboard the vessel stating a passenger lost consciousness.

Coast Guard watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast (UMIB) and diverted a Coast Guard Station Air Station Houston MH-65E Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter rescue aircrew

The MH-65 Dolphin SRR Helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, hoisted the patient with a rescue basket and transported him to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

The boy was transferred to EMS team in stable condition.
