CHARLESTON, S.C. — A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin aircrew rescue two jet skiers after they became stranded on Morris Island near Charleston, South Carolina. Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Coast Guard Sector Charleston watchstanders received a report from a commercial salvage company at 7:16 p.m., stating two people on a jet ski were stranded on Morris Island.
The commercial salvage captain stated he could not assist the jet skiers due to unsafe weather conditions.
Coast Guard Sector Charleston watchstanders diverted a Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew training in the area to assist.
The MH-65 Dolphin SRR helicopter crew arrived on scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the two jet skiers and transferred them to Charleston Executive Airport in Johns Island with no reported medical concerns.
