HOUSTON — A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin aircrew medevac a man from a barge 22 nautical miles south of Cameron, Louisiana. Monday, April 17, 2023.

U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a medevac request relay from Coast Guard 8th District at 6:45 a.m. stating a 42-year-old crew member aboard the barger Super Chief, a 260-foot offshore pipe laying barge, was experiencing seizures.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon, who inmediately recommended the medical evacuation.

The MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter aircrew deployed the rescue swimmer, safely hoisted the man and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.

The MH-65 Dolphin SRR helicopter crew arrived on scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the man and transported him to land to transfer to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

The patient was reported in stable condition.
