The aircrew of the Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk medium-range recovery helicopter that performed the rescue (medical evacuation) of a diver poses in front of their aircraft on July 1, 2023 in New Orleans.
The aircrew had just returned after conducting the medevac mission offshore Port Fourchon.

NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew rescue (medevac) a recreational diver approximately 36 nautical miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Saturday, July 1, 2023.

U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a call at approximately 2:30 p.m. from the offshore vessel Isabella Rose stating a 60-year-old male was experiencing decompression symptoms and needed medical assistance. 

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to assist. 

Once on the scene the MH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter aircrew landed on a nearby offshore platform where the diver was located, onloaded the patient and transferred him to emergency medical services (EMS) at West Jefferson General Hospital in Marrero, Louisiana.

The MH-60T Jayhawk MRR helicopter aircrew landed on the platform during the medevac of a recreational diver approximately 36 nautical miles of Port Fourchon.

The diver was last reported to be in stable condition.
