
NEW ORLEANS – A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew medevac a 67-year-old woman from the Carnival Dream cruise ship approximately 160 nautical miles south of Southwest Pass, Louisiana. Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a report from the cruise ship of a 67-year-old woman with symptoms of kidney failure.
Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac.
The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR Helicopter aircrew arrived on-scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the woman aboard the aircraft and transported her to awaiting emergency medical services (EMS) personnel at University Medical Center in New Orleans.
The patient was experiencing symptoms of possible kidney failure and was brought to University Medical Center in New Orleans.
