NEW ORLEANS — A U.S. Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk rescue helicopter aircrew medevac a mariner from a motor vessel approximately 20 nautical miles southwest of Grand Isle, Louisiana. Thursday, June 22, 2023.
U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a call at approximately 4:30 p.m. from the motor vessel Noble Valiant stating a 54-year-old crewmember was experiencing severe chest pain.
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders diverted a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medical evacuation.
The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR helicopter aircrew arrived on scene and landed on the drill ship. Once the sick mariner was enbarqued onto the helicopter the aircrew headed to land to transfer him to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at University Medical Center New Orleans.
The drill ship Noble Valiant crew informed that the 54-year-old crewmember was experiencing chest pain.

The crewmember was last reported to be in stable condition.
