SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew medevac a 32-year-old fisherman (male) from the commercial fishing vessel Legacy approximately one nautical mile west of San Clemente Island. Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
Coast Guard Sector San Diego Joint Harbor Operations Center watchstanders received notification from the Legacy, reporting that a 32-year-old male crew member onboard was experiencing symptoms of a seizure and needed to be medically evacuated at approximately 4:15 p.m.
Coast Guard watchstanders coordinated the launch of an Air Station San Diego MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac around 5:10 p.m.
The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR Helicopter aircrew arrived on-scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the passenger into the helicopter and transferred him to awaiting emergency medical services (EMS) at Sector San Diego around 6:40 p.m.
