NEW YORK — A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew conducted a medevac of a fisherman 100 nautical miles south of Moriches, New York, Tuesday morning.
U.S. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound watchstanders received a notification from the charter vessel Booyah reporting that a crew member was experiencing a seizure, and were requesting assistance.
The watchstanders inmediately launched a U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medical evacuation.
Over the scene, the Coast Guard Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew deployed the rescue swimmer and safely hoisted the patient. Once onboard the rescue helicopter crew headed to land to transport him to land.
The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew transported the person to Stony Brook Hospital for further care.
