NEW YORK —​ A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew conducted a medevac of a fisherman 100 nautical miles south of Moriches, New York, Tuesday morning.​

U.S. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound watchstanders received a notification from the charter vessel Booyah​ reporting that a​ crew member was experiencing a seizure, and were requesting assistance.

The watchstanders inmediately launched a U.S. Coast Guard Air Station​ Cape Cod, Massachusetts, MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medical evacuation.

Over the scene, the Coast Guard Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew deployed the rescue swimmer and safely hoisted the patient. Once onboard the rescue helicopter crew headed to land to transport him to land.

The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew transported the person to Stony Brook Hospital for further care.

The Coast Guard helicopter crew transferred the fisherman to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at Stony Brook Hospital for medical treatment.
