NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew medevac a crewmember from a motor vessel approximately 13 nautical miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Coast Guard 8th District and Coast Guard Sector New Orleans command center watchstanders received a report at approximately noon Tuesday from the motor vessel Solitaire of a 65-year-old male crewmember experiencing heart attack-like symptoms.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders diverted a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to assist.  

The MH-60 Jayhawk MRR helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, land on the vessel’s deck and introducing him on a litter onboard the aircraft. Once on air the rescue helicopter aircrew put headed to land to transport him to land, were they transfered the crewmember to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at University Medical Center in New Orleans.

The crewmember was reportedly experiencing heart attack-like symptoms and was in need of a medevac.
