NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter aircrew medevac two mariners from a construction vessel approximately 20 nautical miles south of Atchafalaya Bay, Louisiana. Thursday, August 9, 2023.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a medevac request at approximately 11 a.m. from the emergency medical technician aboard the vessel for a passenger experiencing heart related issues.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders then coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to assist.

The MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew arrived on scene, deployed the rescue swimmer and hoisted the two boaters aboard the aircraft.

Once finished the hoist operation the rescue helicopter aircrew headed to land to transfer them to awaiting emergency medical services (EMS) personnel at the University Medical Center in New Orleans.

The men was last reported to be in stable condition.
