U.S. COAST GUARD NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk rescue helicopter medevac a crewmember from a motor vessel approximately 15 nautical miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Sunday, April 23, 2023.
U.S. Coast Guard 8th District and Coast Guard Sector New Orleans command center watchstanders received a report at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday from the motor vessel Solitaire of a 32-year-old male crewmember aboard experiencing severe abdominal pain.
U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60T Jayhawk Medium-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to assist.
The MH-60 Jayhawk SRR helicopter aircrew arrived on scene just after midnight on Sunday, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the crewmember and headed to land to transport and transfer him to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at University Medical Center in New Orleans.
The crewmember was last reported in stable condition.
