NEW ORLEANS — A U.S. Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter aircrew medevac a crewmember from a fishing vessel Thursday near Grand Isle, Louisiana.
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a report over VHF-FM Channel 16 at approximately 1:15 a.m. from a 105-foot fishing vessel of a crewmember who was experiencing chest pains and difficulty breathing.
The Sector New Orleans Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon, who recommended the medevac (medical evacuation).
A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter (SRR) aircrew arrived on the scene, near Grand Isle, medevac the crewmember, and transported him to emergency medical services personnel from the West Jefferson Medical Center.
