NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard and partners are in search for a person in the water near Grand Isle, Louisiana, Sunday.
Missing is Marvin Fuentes a 32-year-old from Metarie, Louisiana. Fuentes was wearing a white and blue stripped shirt and brown shorts.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at 11:20 a.m. from family members that Fuentes went into the water in Grand Isle near the beach. Fuentes reportedly entered the water to assist his son in getting to shore, and after getting his son to shore, was not seen.

Coast Guard’s first national security cutter took to the sea on Friday, operating in concert with the service’s new maritime patrol aircraft, the Ocean Sentry HC-144A, and a newly re-engined MH-65C helicopter. The flagship in the Coast Guard’s first new class of large cutters in 25 years, Bertholf is the Coast Guard’s largest ever patrol cutter. The launch in Pascagoula, Miss., began four days of builder trials that will test the cutter’s systems and performance in advance of the Coast Guard formally accepting it later this spring, and commissioning the cutter for service this summer.
