HOUSTON — A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65E Dolphin aircrew medevac a 30-year-old mariner (man) from a vessel 50 nautical miles off Galveston, Texas. Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a medevac request at approximately 5 p.m. from a crew member stating a 30-year-old male was found unconscious. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon, who recommended the medical evacuation.
Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65E Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac.
Once on the scene the MH-65 Dolphin SRR Helicopter aircrew deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the crew member and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.
The rescue helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, hoisted the crew member, and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.
