ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City is scheduled to celebrate its 25th Anniversary in a ceremony at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township. Friday, May 12, 2023.

Since its creation in 1998, helicopter crews from Coast Guard AirSta Atlantic City have rescued or assisted 1,310 people. The aircrews have flown on more than 7,000 search and rescue cases, dedicating more than 11,000 flight hours to aiding people in distress.

Additionally, air station personnel have saved more than $7,500,000 in property and flown 182,548 total hours, which is equal to more than 20 years serving our nation from aboard the helicopters.

Air station sentinels support a wide range of Coast Guard operations, such as search and rescue, law enforcement, port security, and marine environmental protection for both New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

Air Station Atlantic City crews also provide multiple aircraft and crew members to protect the president’s airspace throughout the United States and our Nation’s Capital on a 24/7 basis in Washington D.C. at the National Capital Region Air Defense Facility, under the operational control of the North American Aerospace Defense Command.

The Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City is comprised of 12 MH-65 Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopters, two of which are always maintained in a 30-mintue response status to be quickly airborne and enroute at speeds in excess of 155 knots.
