HOUSTON — A Coast Guard MH-65E Dolphin helicopter aircrew medevac a 28-year-old fisherman (male) who lost consciousness approximately 28 nautical miles south of Galveston Inlet, Saturday, June 29, 2024.

U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a call via VHF-FM channel 16 at 9:45 a.m. from the captain aboard an 61-foot fishing boat stating a passenger lost consciousness.

Coast Guard watchstanders directed the launch of an MH-65E Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston and a 45-foot Response Boat–Medium (RB-M) crew from Coast Guard Station Galveston.

The MH-65 Dolphin SRR Helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, safely hoist the fisherman aboard the aircraft and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.

The rescue helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, deployed the rescue swimmer and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.
