SERE personnel from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst partnered with Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., to provide an MH-65E Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew with realistic scenarios where flight crews must work together in order to survive a potential aircraft crash in the ocean.
Exercises like these help build interoperability and standardized training capabilities throughout different service branches and our allied partners.

NEW YORK – A Coast Guard MH-65E Dolphin helicopter aircrew medevac a 56-year-old woman from Carnival Cruise Line vessel Venezia approximately 52 nautical miles East of Toms River, New Jersey. August 22, 2024.

Coast Guard Sector New York watchstanders received a report from the Venezia at approximately 7:50 p.m. Thursday evening of a passenger experiencing a medical emergency. The duty flight surgeon was consulted and inmediately he recommended a medical evacuation mission to provide to woman a higher level of medical care.

A Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City MH-65E Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew was launched. The rescue aircrew arrived on the scene around 10:30 p.m., deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the woman and transferred her to emergency medical services (EMS) personnel awaiting at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in New Jersey.

The condition of the patient is unknown.
