CHARLESTON, S.C. — A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin aircrew medevac a woman from a cruise ship 75 nautical miles offshore Brunswick, Georgia. Today, Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Coast Guard 7th District watchstanders received a medevac request at 10:11 p.m., Tuesday, from the cruise ship Mein Schiff stating a 62-year-old passenger was suffering from symptoms of hypertension.
Coast Guard watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon, who inmediately recommended the medical evacuation.
Coast Guard 7th District watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin Short-Range Recovery Helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac.
The MH-65 Dolphin SRR helicopter crew arrived on scene, deployed the rescue swimmer, hoisted the passenger and her husband, then transported them to Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport where EMS were standing by.
